If you want, you can replace the cloth with a microfibre cloth. You may be wondering why baking soda. It is an eco-friendly alternative to many other oven cleaning solutions. Besides, it is super easy to acquire and also cheap. You may not know this, but it does have excellent cleaning properties, which are especially useful in regards to oven cleaning.
  2. Make a paste – grab a small bowl and mix baking soda with water. There is no exact ratio you should follow. The sole goal is to combine the two ingredients into an easily-spreadable paste. You can add water or baking soda if the mix is too abrasive or too watery respectively.
  3. Spread the paste – open the door of the oven and apply the mixture on the glass. Naturally, it needs to be cold to allow you to work. It will be easier to spread the paste if you can detach the oven door. Only resort to this if you are confident you can detach the oven and then return it to its normal condition without a problem. The last thing you want is to damage the appliance in any way since that will cost you money.
  4. Let the paste sit – after spreading the paste on the oven door, it is a good idea to let it sit for a while. If you wipe it immediately, it will not do much regarding cleaning. Allow it 30 to 60 minutes. This is more than enough time to eat away the spoils and soften the particularly nasty stains on the oven door.
  5. Wipe out the impurities – once enough time has passed, it is about time to clean. Use the microfibre cloth or clean rag you have prepared. Dampen it a little and start wiping.
